Welcome to Sandyholme

A peaceful and beautiful place to stay in the delightful village of Studland in the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset.

Sandyholme is set in lovely grounds with nearby sandy beaches, cliff top walks along the Jurassic Coast and much more.

With up to 32 beds (including the occasional beds), four kitchens, two bathrooms, two shower rooms, and several lounges, this makes an ideal centre for self catered retreats or group holidays. It can also be easily divided up into smaller units for that much needed small group or family break. Each unit comes complete with kitchen facilities and duvets/pillows are provided. Duvet covers are also provided but ideally guests should bring their own sheets, pillow cases, towels and tea towels.

Sandyholme was taken over by Bournemouth YMCA in 2006 and was refurbished and refitted ready for the 2007 letting season. It is a substantial character house standing in its own grounds, situated in the village of Studland in the delightful Isle ofPurbeck. It is within easy walking distance of the church, village shop, pub and beach. The house can be rented as a whole and is ideal for retreats, residentials and group or extended family holidays. It is equally ideal for more active groups as a base for outdoor activity breaks. It can also be divided up into four separate units for smaller groups or families.

Because the house stands in a village, we regret that it is not suitable for stag or hen weekends.

Finally, if you are looking for somewhere to hold a daytime or eveningmeeting, or a day conference, Sandyholme is ideal for that too.

PLEASE NOTE:  Parking at the house is limited.  With large groups, approximately 10 cars can be accommodated provided some do not mind being blocked in.

LATEST NEWS:  We have been successful in obtaining planning consent to extend Sandyholme to provide a dining room, a conservatory and to instal some en suite facilities in the first floor rooms.  We have also been successful in raising a £100,000 grant from Bournemouth Free Church Council towards the cost of this.

This does mean that the house may be closed during the winter of 2009/10 whilst the building work is carried out.
