What to do
The Isle of Purbeck is a delightful part of Dorset with
many miles of clifftop walks along the Jurassic Coast that has been designated a
World Heritage Site. There is also much heathland, including a number of nature
reserves and long walks along rolling Dorset hills. Local attractions include Old
Harry Rocks, The Blue Pool, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Corfe Castle, Fort Henry,
The Swanage Steam Railway, picturesque villages such as Studland and Worth Matravers,
historic towns such as Swanage and Wareham, and further afield the larger towns
of Dorchester, Weymouth, Poole and Bournemouth. For the more active, there are outdoor
activity centres nearby.
Activities
The area caters for all tastes with many varied activities to enjoy. These include
walking, golf, horse riding at stables within walking distance, cycling with cycle
hire also within walking distance, swimming and water sports, tennis, zorbing, hang
gliding and much more. Or for the less active, miles of sandy beach to relax on
in the sun.
